Quick commerce business Zomato Limited will change its name to ‘Eternal Limited’ as its shareholders have approved the name-change resolution. The move comes as the business continues to diversify and expand its operations and positions Blinkit as a significant growth driver.

“In connection with the above referred matter, I submit my shareholders of the company have duly passed the special resolution for the item as set out in the notice approving the following: to approve change of name of the company and consequent alteration in the Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association of the company,” read the business’ regulatory filing, accessed by the Press Trust of India.
When the name change comes into effect, Zomato will change its corporate website from ‘Zomato.com’ to ‘Eternal.com,’ Zomato’s founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal informed shareholders in a letter, the Economic Times reported. The business also plans to change its stock ticker.
Zomato acquired quick commerce business Blinkit to expand its quick commerce offering as Blinkit features a wide range of both Indian and international fashion and beauty brands on its platform. These product categories are swiftly increasing in popularity as young metro shoppers seek fast deliveries for a quick fashion fix.
