Bagga ran Zepto’s mother hubs and line haul segment, according to his Linkedin page. Anonymous sources close to the development told Inc42 Media that Bagga’s decision to leave the business after less than a year of joining was related to its office’s move from Bengaluru to Mumbai.

The sources also posited that Zepto could fill Bagga’s position internally because the business is aiming to reduce its external hiring. Zepto’s head of human resources Martin Dinesh Gomez also recently decided to resign from the business, the Press Trust of India reported.

Bagga previously worked for Raymond Limited for three years as head of distribution and logistics. The executive also worked for Reliance Retail for 24 years and managed distribution centre operations for a number of retail formats such as Marks & Spencer and Vision Express.

Entrepreneurs Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra launched Zepto in 2021. The business is currently gearing up to launch an initial public offering in the coming few years and is shifting its base back to India.

Zepto’s gross merchandise value crossed the $1 billion mark during the 2024 financial year. The business raised $350 million in November 2024 from a number of Indian high net worth individuals, family offices, and large scale financial institutions.
