Zara Hatke Zara Bachke could well be aiming for Rs. 70-75 crises lifetime now. Yes, you read it right. A medium budget film, it has emerged as a solid hit at the box office and if the manner in which its currently collecting at the box office keeps going then it could well turn out to be a superhit as well. For a film where even Rs. 20 crores lifetime would have been considered good enough since a major chunk of investment had been recovered through OTT, satellite and music, there is more than triple of that which would come at the box office. This also means that just from India and overseas theatrical, the film will now recover its investment and hence OTT, satellite and music would be an added bonus, which would add on to its huge profits.
All of this has been made possible by a continued superb run where Sunday collections too went past the Rs. 7 crores mark, which has happened for just Pathaan, The Kerala Story and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar this year. While first two in the list are blockbusters, last one is an above average affair (due to costs involves). Now Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is a solid hit though since it has been made at a controlled budget and has already collected Rs. 53.55 crores.
One wonders whether the recovery has already begun for theatrical business since of late quite a few Hindi as well as English films have been doing well week after week. Adipurush is also looking like embarking to an excellent start and if that film enters Rs. 200 Crore Club then we could well have end up having a very satisfactory second quarter of 2023.
