As Vicky Donor gears up for a theatrical re-release, 13 years after its original premiere, actress Yami Gautam took to social media to share a still from the film, calling it a moment of ‘Nostalgia’. The 2012 comedy-drama, directed by Shoojit Sircar, marked her acting debut in Hindi cinema and is now set to return to theatres on April 18.

Sharing the still from hers and Ayushmann’s wedding sequence in the film, on Instagram, Yami wrote, “Nostalgia #VickyDonor coming back to you in theatres!!!! Just 2 days to go”.
Vicky Donor was not just a launchpad for Yami Gautam but also introduced Ayushmann Khurrana to Bollywood, who made his acting and singing debut with the film. Known for its unconventional theme centred around sperm donation, the film used humour and empathy to open up a conversation about a topic rarely discussed in mainstream Indian cinema. The film also marked the debut production of actor John Abraham under his banner JA Entertainment.
In the film, Yami played Ashima Roy, a young Bengali woman who falls in love with Vicky Arora, a Delhi-based man played by Ayushmann.
