SmackDown: CM Punk attacked Roman Reigns (WWE)
The latest instalment of Friday Night SmackDown aired live on April 5. The show was hosted at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The signature weekly event featured some major updates for WWE’s upcoming premium live event WrestleMania 41. Fans were treated to promos from top superstars like CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Charlotte Flair, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Five official fights were also on the match card. The first bout of the night saw Nathan Frazer take on Rey Fenix. In women’s action, B-FAB went head-to-head with Naomi. The Samoan Werewolf Jacob Fatu faced Braun Strowman in the show’s main event.
CM Punk kicks off the show
CM Punk roused the crowd by thanking and calling them the best supporters. Punk then said he had a date with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Paul Heyman cut him off but clarified he meant no disrespect to him or Chicago. The Wiseman then asked the Second City Saint about the second favour he mentioned in previous live events. Punk told Heyman he would reveal it when Reigns arrived because he wanted to tell them to their faces.
Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton meet in the ring
Wade Barrett started the segment by claiming he would be moderating things between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton. Flair spoke first and said she wanted to show the fans there was no comparison between them. Stratton then addressed her challenger before saying no matter how many titles Charlotte won in her career she would always be second to her father, the legendary Ric Flair. The challenger then taunted the champ by asking if it was the reason why her boyfriend Ludwig Kaiser was in her DMs.
Fans hear from Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens began the segment by talking about how he had been wrestling for 25 years. KO then revealed he would have to get neck surgery and he wouldn’t be able to get in the ring with Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41. The Viper arrived at the arena and chased after Owens. KO headed to the back before Nick Aldis informed Orton he no longer had a match for WrestleMania 41. The Viper responded by landing an RKO on the general manager before walking away.
CM Punk reveals the favour he needs
The promo started with Roman Reigns asking Chicago to acknowledge him. He then called on Punk but it was Seth Rollins who walked out to the ring. Rollins claimed even he had no idea what the Second City Saint wanted more. Punk arrived next and told Reigns he wanted Paul Heyman to be in his corner for WrestleMania 41. The Tribal Chief chuckled and asked Heyman to turn Punk’s demand down but Wiseman began to cry while claiming he couldn’t say no. Punk, meanwhile, blindsided Reigns with the GTS and stared down Rollins as the show went off the air.

Nathan Frazer vs Rey Fenix – Rey Fenix beat Nathan Frazer by pinfall using the Mexican Muscle Buster.
LA Knight vs Tama Tonga – LA Knight defeated Tama Tonga by pinfall after hitting him with the BFT.
DIY vs Motor City Machine Guns – A Schoolboy Pin from Chris Sabin on Tommaso Ciampa saw Motor City Machine Guns win by pinfall to become the number one contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championship.
B-FAB vs Naomi – Naomi won the match by pinfall with the wrist-clutch single-leg Codebreaker.
Braun Strowman vs Jacob Fatu in a Number One Contender’s Last Man Standing Match for the WWE United States Championship – Jacob Fatu beat the 10-count to become the number one contender to the US title.
