NEW DELHI: Indian pace sensation Arshdeep Singh‘s dream delivery in the County Championship has taken social media by storm. Looking at his exemplary act of swing bowling, discussions have begun among fans that the left-arm pacer should have been included in India’s squad for the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) in Australia.
The clip shows the commentator praising Arshdeep, whose in-swinging delivery was enough to shatter the stumps. “Oh, knocks him over. That’s a beauty from Arshdeep Singh. Top of off, bails flying, and that swung back in as well, wow,” the awe-struck commentator remarked.

In comments under the post, cricket fans questioned why Arshdeep was absent from India’s Test squad against Australia.
“Why was he not in BGT?” asked one fan on X (formerly Twitter).
Another fan moaned, “I don’t understand why BCCI is ignoring him in Tests and ODIs. Man delivered in back-to-back T20 WCs and also the highest wicket-taker of 2024 T20 WC.”
“Why this guy is not playing Test matches is beyond my imagination. Left -handed, fast, natural swing. Will be a great option with red ball,” remarked a fan.

One of the fans suggested Arshdeep’s inclusion in all three formats. “Arshdeep Singh is needed in all three formats of the Indian team,” he opined.
India endured a harrowing 3-1 defeat to Australia in the BGT 2024/25. Entering the series without a left-arm pacer, the Indian bowling attack relied heavily on the services of pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who claimed 32 wickets and ended as the highest wicket-taker of the series.
Nevertheless, the anticipated results did not arrive as lacklustre batting and lack of consistent support for Bumrah from other seamers in the squad hurt India and Australia clinched their first BGT title in a decade.
