NEW DELHI: After returning to form in the last match, India’s opening batter Abhishek Sharma continued to torment South African bowlers in the fourth and final T20I of the series in Johannesburg on Friday.
The young batter delivered a brilliant cameo, scoring 36 off just 18 balls to set the tone for the visitors for a big total. His explosive innings included 4 sixes and 2 fours.
The highlight of his knock came in the fifth over when he launched Proteas pacer Andile Simelane for a massive six out of the ground.
Abhishek charged down the track, created room, and smoked the ball over extra cover, sending it soaring onto the roof before it bounced out of the ground.
He found his mojo back with a blistering fifty in the third T20I against South Africa in Centurion on Wednesday.
The left-hander came out firing on all cylinders, attacking the South African bowlers with ease during his explosive 50 off just 25 balls, which included five sixes and three fours.
In the first T20I, Abhishek could only manage 7 runs, followed by a mere 4 in the second match in Gqeberha. His dismissals in both innings were strikingly similar.
