Footwear label VKC has opened its 17th My VKC exclusive brand outlet in Tamil Nadu, in the southern state’s city of Mettupalayam. The new outlet was inaugurated by its franchisee owner Mr Akbar and family, in the presence of local dignitaries including A Mehariba Parvin Asraf Ali, chairman of Mettupalayam, and P Chinna Kaamanan, inspector of police.

“We are excited to open our first ‘My VKC’ store at Mettupalayam and our 17th store in Tamil Nadu,” announced the business in a press release. “With this new venture, Mettupalayam will have contemporary global fashion in its neighbourhoods at affordable prices. My VKC store will be offering seven power brands in specific categories.”
The store will retail VKC’s portfolio of footwear labels, including VKC Pride, VKC Debon, GoodSpot, Eezy, Ja.May.Ka, and Debongo, offering products for men, women, and children. Positioned as a fashion forward destination with affordable pricing, the store supports VKC’s wider strategy to bring contemporary global styles to Tier 2 and 3 cities and rural markets across India.
The Mettupalayam store will also participate in the early booking rollout for ‘Go Planet-D’, a sub-brand under Debongo, which VKC has positioned as the world’s first 100% sustainable and circular footwear label. Announced earlier this month, the brand claims to offer resale value on used footwear and promote an eco-friendly production model.
Bookings for Go Planet-D will begin in May 2025 at all My VKC outlets, including Mettupalayam, where customers can register interest by submitting foot measurements and contact details. VKC aims to scale this initiative as part of its broader retail and sustainability goals.
