The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has declared the results of the VIT Research Entrance Examination (VITREE) for the January 2025 session. Candidates who took the exam can now check and download their results by visiting the official website at VIT at vit.ac.in.

The VITREE January 2025 exam was conducted on December 7, 2024. The test is held for students seeking admission to various PhD programmes VIT offers across its four campuses.

VITREE January 2025 Results: How To Check?

Candidates can follow these steps to access their results:

Step 1 — Visit the official website of VIT — vit.ac.in.

Step 2 — On the homepage, click on your campus (Vellore/Chennai/ Andhra Pradesh/Bhopal)

Step 3 — Click on the VITREE Ph.D/Direct Ph.D (Deep Tech) Admission Results.

Step 4 — Enter the required login credentials such as your roll number and password.

Step 5 — Click submit.

Step 6 — The result will appear on the screen.

Step 7 — Download and save the result. Take a print out of the page for future reference.

The exam was held across 28 cities for a duration of two hours. All questions in VITREE are Multiple Choice Questions. Candidates get one mark for each right answer. There is no negative marking. The question paper for Ph.D. consists of 100 MCQs (Technical – 70 questions, English communication skills – 15, Statistics and probability – 15 questions). The question paper for Direct Ph.D. also comprises 100 MCQs (Technical – 80 questions, English communication skills – 20 questions). The question paper is in English only.

As per the official information brochure, the minimum duration of study and research fr Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D.) from the date of registration for the Ph.D. programme to the date of submission of thesis will be 30 months for full-time research scholars and 36 months for part-time research scholars. While for Direct Ph.D., the minimum duration of study and research from the date of registration for the Direct Ph.D. programme to the date of submission of thesis will be four years.
