Nagpur: Vidarbha Divyang Premier League, a T20 tournament for physically challenged cricketers, will be held in the city from Monday. The three-day tournament will be played at the Institute of Science ground.
Vidarbha Divyang Cricket Association (VDCA) is organizing the league. The Vidarbha association is affiliated to the Differently able Cricket Council of India, a body supported by the BCCI.
The winners will be richer by ₹1 lakh while the runners-up team will get ₹50,000. The two losing semifinalists will get ₹10,000 each. As many as 60 players from all over Vidarbha have been selected for the league.
Four teams will be seen vying for the top honours during the league.
President of the VDCA, Sanjay Bhoskar said that the purpose of the league is to boost the morale of the physically challenged cricketers. Gurudas Raut, member of VDCA, appealed to citizens to come to the ground and encourage the physically challenged cricketers.
