Amid the ongoing stir over the paper schedule, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has agreed to conduct the PCS preliminary exam 2024 in a single shift.

Accepting the demands of the aspirants, the UPPSC on Thursday postponed the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) exams and announced to hold the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) preliminary exam on the old pattern.

While the UPPSC has given no clarification on the date of the examination, Prayagraj DM Ravindra Kumar said, “The date of the exam (PCS) will be issued by the commission (UPPSC) soon.”

However, following the commission’s decision, the students clarified that they will continue their protest until an official notice will be issued on the UPPSC website.

“PCS exam will be conducted as it was used to be conducted. The RO/ARO exam has been cancelled. But our demand is we want notice of that also and till there will be no notice on the website, we will continue to protest,” One of the aspirants, who was protesting, was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
