Ride-hailing platform Uber is celebrating 10th anniversary in the Indian market after it launched cab services from Bengaluru in August 2013. Today, the company has become a widely preferred platform for both riders and drivers. Making the announcement, Uber said it has significantly transformed mobility in India, providing a safe, reliable, and affordable ride via the app across 125 cities.
In the last 10 years, Uber said more than 300 crores (3 billion) trips were taken in India and Uber drivers have earned INR over 50,000 Crores on the platform since 2013.
Over 30 Lakh drivers have earned via the Uber app as a driver partner as they have driven a total of 3,300 crore Kilometers with Uber. Four crore Kilometers is the number of green kilometers driven on Uber in India as the company works towards becoming a zero-emissions platform by 2040.

In last 10 years, the company has introduced several India-first innovations tailored to meet Indian riders’ and drivers’ specific demands, such as cash payments and regional language support, as well as implementing several industry-first safety features. On the occasion, Uber also released some consumer trends that show that Uber is shaping mobility preferences for Indians. 90 per cent of respondents say that Uber has revolutionised the way they travel in India, and 72 per cent say that the availability of ridesharing options has made them re-evaluate their purchase of a personal vehicle. Over 30 per cent say mobility offered through multiple modes is the single most loved aspect of Uber, and nearly 55 per cent say that sustainable mobility will become mainstream over the coming decade. Additionally, 79 per cent said that they totally or frequently depend on Uber for their nightlife plans that involve drinking.
