TVS Apache RR 310, price, updated model, winglet

Ever since its 2018 debut, the Apache RR 310 has been one of the most feature-rich bikes in its class and now it seems TVS will be upping the ante even further with the introduction of winglets on its flagship model.

  1. Winglets usually seen on powerful supersport machines
  2. Rest of the bike appears to be the same
  3. Prices could see a small hike

TVS Apache RR 310: does it really need winglets?

Well, no. Winglets are common in the upper echelon of the supersport world with almost every litre-class machine currently on sale sporting these aerodynamic appendages for downforce. The power outputs of these bikes are in the 200hp ballpark and for aggressive track riding, aerodynamics help in setting quicker lap times, as MotoGP and WSBK riders routinely keep proving.

On the other hand, the Apache RR 310’s motor is rated for 34hp, which means that these winglets will serve more as bragging rights rather than actually helping the motorcycle go faster. When TVS launched the RTR 310 last year, the company spruced up the 312cc powerplant to bump up output to 35.6hp. With this update, TVS could also give the engine in the RR 310 this same treatment.

The rest of the motorcycle appears to be identical to the current model and we don’t expect any fundamental changes to be rolled out. The standard Apache RR 310 is currently priced at Rs 2.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), before you add the accessories available from TVS such as adjustable suspension, fancier paint and the like. We could see a small bump in price when the Apache RR 310 with the winglets launches.
