A Vistara flight destined for New Delhi was redirected to Nagpur on Sunday night due to a medical crisis involving a young girl with a heart condition.Fortunately, a group of AIIMS Delhi doctors onboard attended to her needs. Subsequently, she was admitted to a hospital in Nagpur.
According to a statement from KIMS-KINGSWAY Hospitals, the child had undergone cardiac surgery in Bengaluru on August 5. During the flight to Delhi, she suffered multiple cardiac arrests, but the doctors on the flight managed to revive her.
The toddler has developed acute renal failure secondary to multiple cardiac arrests, it said.
Every possible measure of critical care tailored to pediatric cases is being administered to the child. Despite these efforts, her condition remains exceedingly critical, as stated in the released statement.
A multidisciplinary team of senior doctors and the dedicated staff of paediatric intensive care unit is taking round the clock care, and the parents are regularly counselled regarding the critical status of the child, it was stated.
