The ₹5-crore double decker boat can accommodate up to 125 persons at a time. 

Tamil Nadu’s first floating restaurant was opened on the backwaters of Muttukadu near Chennai. The ₹5-crore double decker boat can accommodate up to 125 persons at a time. 

Tourism Minister R. Rajendran and MSME Minister T. M. Anbarasan inaugurated the boat in the presence of Tourism Secretary B. Chandra Mohan. The boat was constructed under private-public partnership by Grandeur Marine International. 

The boat has an air-conditioned main deck with a stage, green rooms, a large 83 inch smart TV, DJ area, sound system and is suitable for parties, conferences, small weddings and functions like haldi. 

The open deck has seating and space for games and events. According to Ojus, whose company managed the cruise, they have tied up with various catering teams and can provide all kinds of cuisines including vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Trial runs have already been conducted and the floating facility can be used from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
