Taliban Threat: Got Death Threat From Pak Taliban After Joining Bjp, Says Tajbagh Heir | Nagpur News

Nagpur: Syed Taleef Taji, the fourth generation descendant of Sufi Saint Tajuddin Baba, claims to have received threat letters from Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) after he joined the BJP. The letters were sent to him by email, post midnight of Monday and Tuesday, claims Taji.
He has been demanding enhanced security since the day he joined the BJP, claiming threats from fundamentalist organizations.
Taji shared the letters with TOI. One letter in Urdu was translated through reliable sources by TOI. The letter says that “groups hunting for Taji have reached Nagpur, and neither police nor the Modi regime would be able to save him”. Taji said he has also shared the letter with the police but there has been no response from them yet.
Taji had joined the saffron party last month following an appeal by Union home minister Amit Shah. Last month, an event on Sufism was held at the Tajbagh shrine. The speakers made it a point to mention Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his contribution towards upliftment of Muslims and liking towards Sufism.
One of the letters, which has ‘TTP Dera Ismail Khan’ written on top, says, “Hamare deegar sathiyon se tumhe warning mile hain. Musalmano ke dushman Modi aur uskee hukumat se talookat na karo (you may have received warnings from our different comrades, do not maintain relations with Modi or his regime). Hamare log tumhare shaher pahuch gayein hain (our men have reached your city).” The heading reads ‘Maut ka pardana’.
Dera Ismail Khan, the place where the letter has supposedly been sent from, is located in Northwest Frontier Province of Pakistan (NWFP).
Another letter supposedly written by another organization also has a similar tone. Warning him for allying with Modi, it warns Taji that his death is imminent. The two emails have been sent by Saleem Qasmi and Ghazi Bhai.
