In India, students can study Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in both government and private colleges. While government universities charge reasonable tuition fees, private colleges charge very high amounts, making it difficult for many students to pursue their goals. At the same time, the shortage of sheets in government medical colleges makes students explore options abroad.

One of the major reasons is that it is much more cost-efficient than studying in their own country. Reportedly, the fees for MBBS in Russia are three times lower than that of India. The fees of private medical colleges in India range from Rs 80 lakhs to Rs 1.5 crores, while in Russia one can get MBBS for Rs 20 to 30 lakhs.

3. Eligibility Criteria
To pursue MBBS in Russia, Indian students just need to have at least 60 percent marks in Class 12 Science Stream and must have appeared for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam. However, ranks obtained in the NEET exam are not considered in Russian universities.
4. English Medium Courses
Several Russian universities offer MBBS programmes in the English language, allowing overseas students to study without the burden of a foreign language. This means that students can focus on their studies without worrying about language challenges.
5. World Recognition
The MBBS degrees from Medical colleges in Russia are recognised by the World Health Education (WHO), the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the National Medical Commission (NMC). Some of the top institutions in Russia include Moscow State University, Sechenov University and RUDN University.
