SSB Odisha Teacher Recruitment 2024: The State Selection Board, Odisha has released a notification for the recruitment to the position of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT). The online application process for SSB PGT Recruitment 2024 will be open from March 18 to April 18 (11:45 PM).The board aims to fill a total of 1061 posts for Post-Graduate teachers (PGT) in Odisha under the administrative control of the School & Mass Education Department.
Age Limit
The age requirement mandates that candidates must be at least 21 years old and not exceed 38 years of age as of January 1, 2024, across all categories. However, candidates from reserved categories are eligible for relaxation in the upper age limit.
Educational Qualification
(a) Candidates need a Master’s Degree in the subject they’re applying for from a recognized university, or you can have completed a six-year integrated postgraduate program from a Regional College of Education recognized by NCERT. Your degree should have at least 50% marks in total or an equivalent grade.
(b) Candidates need to have a B.Ed. degree or an equivalent qualification recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi. This is necessary for all subjects.
(c) Candidates don’t need a B.Ed. qualification if you’re applying for the post of PGT in Commerce, Education, Geology, Home Science, Logic & Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, IRPM, Telugu, or Urdu subjects.
(d) Candidates must have a B.Ed. qualification if you’re applying for the post of PGT in Botany, Chemistry, Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Odia, Physics, Political Science, Sanskrit, or Zoology subjects.

Selection Process
Candidates will be chosen through a combined evaluation of a written test and career assessment. The allocation of marks is as follows:
1. Written Test: 150 Marks (Multiple Choice Questions)

Application Fee
Candidates who are not categorised as reserved or socially and economically backward (SEBC) must pay a fee of Rs.200. However, this fee is waived for candidates who belong to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or persons with disabilities (PwD) categories, specifically those with 40% or more permanent disability.
