Skoda Kylaq Classic bookings closed
In an earlier interaction with Autocar India, Petr Janeba, Skoda India brand director had said, “The Kylaq Classic is an entry version, but it’s not something we only advertise, but will also deliver.”
The brand had earlier conveyed that the initial batch will comprise of 33,000 units and will be delivered by next May. Bookings for the sold-out variants will reopen post the first batch of deliveries. Janeba had also said that Skoda can adjust production numbers for variants according to customer demand.
The Kylaq Classic can only be had with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It is well equipped and comes with features like LED headlamps, 16-inch steel wheels, six airbags, adjustable headrests, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, powered wing mirrors, manual AC, a front centre armrest, and two tweeters, among others.
The entry-level Kylaq gets a decent feature but misses out on touchscreen infotainment.
Commenting on the Kylaq Classic’s equipment list, Janeba had said, “The only thing missing is an infotainment system. We always prefer delivering a full car, but it was important for the pricing. It, however, has all the connections, antennas and speakers, so customers can fit aftermarket screens or even a Skoda system as an accessory. This is the only thing which a customer needs to get over the full car that we are delivering.”
