Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 59th birthday and as expected, there was jubilation like no other across the country courtesy of his die-hard fans. On this special occasion, SRK called his fans to an auditorium in Mumbai and had an interactive session with them. As expected, the superstar brought the house down with his wit and sense of humour. At the same time, he also gave an important suggestion to his admirers.
Shah Rukh Khan’s 59th birthday celebration: SRK jokingly scolds a fan who says “Padhne mein neend aati hai”: “Aur Instagram dekh ke jaag jaata hai?”
Shah Rukh Khan began by saying, “When I used to be asked questions during my school days, I was unable to answer them as I used to fear being judged. Lekin aap logon ke saath mujhe apna pan lagta hai. Hence, I answer all the questions correctly.” As expected, there was applause from the fans at this statement.
He was then asked about the current book that he was reading. SRK said, “Rahul Dholakia’s new film Agni is coming up. He has given me a biography of Al Pacino. I look forward to reading it.”
At this point, the anchor, RJ Rohini, remarked, “All of us could do a little bit more reading.” Shah Rukh Khan, however, stated, “Actually, you all could do a lot more reading! Lot more reading, less Instagram! Padho, padho, padho. Dekho kam.”
A fan shouted “Sir, neend aati hai padhne mein.” Shah Rukh heard him and said, “Kaun bola neend aati hai padhne mein? Aur Instagram dekh ke jaag jaata hai?” A female fan replied, “Instagram mein aapko dekhte hai, sir.” But SRK, in his trademark style, immediately replied, “Why don’t you read books about me, then?”
At the end of the event, Shah Rukh Khan cut the cake and then told his fans, “We’ll do the pictures now. Since main itna special hoon, toh security (thodi zyada hai). The more organized we are, the pictures will look better. I know that there’s a lot of excitement. I am also excited.”
At this event, a fan removed his shirt to show a tattoo of Shah Rukh Khan. SRK remembered this moment and jokingly stated, “No man has to show me his tattoo while sitting next to me!”
