Shah Rukh Khan going to the Met Gala with Sabyasachi, Diet Sabya confirms, sends internet into tizzy | Fashion News

The buzz in both fashion and Bollywood circles is real: if whispers are to be believed, Shah Rukh Khan might finally be making his much-awaited debut at the Met Gala this year. The rumour mill started churning when the popular Instagram account Diet Sabya, known for its sharp takes on fashion, dropped a cryptic post a few weeks ago. And now, on Sunday, April 27, they have gone a step further — confidently declaring that SRK will be walking the famed red carpet at the Met Gala this year, dressed in an outfit by Sabyasachi.

There hasn’t been any direct confirmation from the superstar yet, but fans were quick to notice that Pooja Dadlani, Shah Rukh’s long-time manager, liked the post — a subtle but strong hint that the rumours might just be true.

Sharing the news with much fanfare, Diet Sabya posted: “Shah Rukh + Sabya Met Confirmed. National headlines, Threads in meltdown, entertainment sites foaming at the mouth, Twitter frenzy et al. Time to shut it down lol. We at DietSabya can confirm: yes, that is indeed SRK – India’s undisputed generational superstar – making his Met Gala debut in May 2025, wearing Sabyasachi (India’s biggest luxury brand). But wait, was there ever a doubt? Are we excited…or? Catch you on the carpet.”

If all goes as speculated, this would be nothing short of historic. Shah Rukh Khan would not only be making his Met Gala debut but would also become the first Indian male actor to walk the prestigious carpet, a proud moment for India and Bollywood fans across the globe.

And it’s not just SRK lighting up the Met this year. Kiara Advani, who’s currently expecting her first child with actor Sidharth Malhotra, is also set to make her Met Gala debut next month. Adding more spice to the mix, there are murmurs that Diljit Dosanjh might also be making his debut, though no official word has come in yet.

Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, and Alia Bhatt have previously wowed the world at the event, known officially as the Costume Institute Benefit and hosted annually by Vogue.

Earlier, Diet Sabya had teased followers with a cheeky note on April 10:

“STOP THE PRESSES!!! The impossible just happened! Two titans of their craft – the greatest Bollywood superstar – and the biggest designer of our generation – are joining forces for their MET Gala 2025 debut. And let’s be real, this is HUGE? Monumental baby!! We’re talking HISTORY in the making. This Bollywood icon is about to become the first Indian man to strut his ‘dandy’ on the Met carpet. Let the guessing games begin.”

The Met Gala 2025 is all set for May 5 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” is inspired by Monica Miller’s groundbreaking 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. It promises a powerful celebration of Black fashion, artistry, and identity.
