Humara sabse accha bachcha DDLJ hi hai [Our favorite child is DDLJ].” The 1995 release quickly became a cultural touchstone, securing its place as Bollywood’s longest-running film and transforming Khan’s on-screen character, Raj, into a beloved symbol of romance and optimism.
The Story Behind the Iconic DDLJ Poster
The unforgettable poster of DDLJ, with Khan lifting Kajol on his shoulders, has its own lighthearted backstory. During an interview with Curly Tales, Kajol reminisced about the shoot, recalling how she kept checking on Khan, worried about whether he could carry her weight. Laughing, she said, “I think it took a hit on his masculinity. He was like, ‘How can you say this? I am a guy.’” Despite his confidence, Khan ended up with a frozen shoulder, a memory both actors look back on with fondness.
