Indian badminton ace PV Sindhu is set to tie the knot with Venkata Datta Sai on December 22. The couple recently visited Sachin Tendulkar’s house to invite him to their wedding.

The Master Blaster shared a post on social media with Sindhu and her fiance while holding the invitation card.

Praising Sindhu’s achievements, Tendulkar has sent his best wishes for the new chapter of her life.

“In badminton, the score always starts with ‘love’, and your beautiful journey with Venkata Datta Sai ensures it continues with ‘love’ forever! Thank you for personally inviting us to be a part of your big day. Wishing you both a lifetime of smashing memories & endless rallies of joy!” Tendulkar posted on X.

Sindhu’s marriage has been planned for this month, considering her upcoming badminton assignments which will start from January next year. The reception is slated to be held on December 24 in Hyderabad.

“The two families knew each other, but it was only a month ago that everything was finalised. This was the only possible window as her schedule will be hectic from January. So that is the reason the two families decided to have the marriage ceremony on December 22. She will start her training soon after, as the next season is going to be important,” Sindhu’s father, PV Ramana, revealed during an interaction with the news agency PTI.

Venkata Dutta Sai, who currently resides in Hyderabad, serves as the Executive Director at Posidex Technologies. Sai has degrees in liberal studies and business. He has been in the sector for a long time and has worked as part of JSW-owned Delhi Capitals during his professional career.

Meanwhile, Sindhu recently added another feather to her cap by securing the Syed Modi International title on December 1. The 29-year-old shuttler crushed China’s Wu Luo Yu in the final at a scoreline of 21-14, 21-16.

Sindhu had previously won the Syed Modi International tournament twice in 2017 and 2022.
