From Durga Puja to Dussehra, October is full of festivities. As a result, several schools, colleges, and other educational institutions will remain closed across most states for almost a week. This year, Ashtami and Navami will be celebrated on the same day. As a result, it has left many students and parents quite confused about when will schools be closed for Dussehra.
In most of the states of North India including UP, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand, the official holiday for Dussehra will be from October 10 to 12, 2024. After this, October 13 is a Sunday, which means schools will remain closed on that day too. This way, there will be a total of four days of holiday across schools and colleges. Students can enjoy a long weekend from October 10 (Thursday), October 11 (Friday), October 12 (Saturday), and October 13 (Sunday). Furthermore, considering the importance of Durga Puja, a week’s holiday has been declared in some places from October 7 to October 13.
