After a good opening weekend of Rs. 38.50 crores, the Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer Satyaprem Ki Katha, has seen a drop in collections on Monday. According to early estimates, the movie has collected in the range of Rs. 3.60 to 3.90 crores on its fifth day taking the total collections to Rs. 42.25 crores. The drop has come across the board, especially in the mass areas, though the plexes have held up better than the single screens.
On Monday, Satyaprem Ki Katha collected Rs. 2.00 crores across the three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis which resulted in a total contribution of 65 percent to the fifth day of business. The hold is just about average and it now remains to be seen how the film trends over the opening week, as the fate depends on the trend in the long run. The opening week from here with the usual trend will be around Rs. 51 crore mark and it’s then on what happens in the second weekend.
Satyaprem Ki Katha is directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It is the first collaboration of Sajid with Kartik and Kiara.
