It’s going to be a Rs. 70 crores+ Week One for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, what with Wednesday turning out to be superb as well and bringing on more than Rs. 7 crores all over again. That’s the kind of score that the film has been managing from Monday onwards and the fact that the trend has only got better bang in the middle of the week further goes on to show that audiences have whole heartedly accepted the romantic family drama that Karan Johar has to offer.
After bringing in Rs. 7.02 crores on Monday and then Rs. 7.30 crores on Tuesday, the film had a bountiful Wednesday as well with Rs. 7 crores* more coming in. The fact that the film has reached this already with such consistent collections makes one hope that Thursday too stays on the same lines and the film manages to score yet another Rs. 7 crores+ day. Something like this is pretty much required for the industry to keep thriving, especially since this one is a biggie and needs all the push so that the good run sustains.
Currently, the film stands at Rs. 67.12 crores* and while Rs. 70 crores mark would be crossed in a jiffy, a score of Rs. 73 crores would be comfortably crossed by the end of week. This is good because a first week total of Rs. 75 crores was meant to be optimal for this genre and though after the first day it didn’t seem possible, the momentum gained over the weekend and then superb hold over the weekdays will ensure that the film will eventually come quite close to that.
