Sanjay Garg’s luxury clothing brand Raw Mango has shifted to retailing from a pop-up location in Mumbai. The label’s flagship store in the metro is currently undergoing a major renovation.
“Our Mumbai store is undergoing renovations, until then, visit us at our Pop-Up location: Raw Mango at The Stands (Formerly Bungalow), Wankhede Churchgate, Mumbai,” the brand announced on Facebook. The temporary store houses Raw Mango’s spring/ summer 2023 collection of Varanasi silk brocade kurtas, classic red sarees, and more ethereal, semi-sheer sets.
The pop-up store has a minimalist aesthetic to enable Raw Mango’s bright, eclectic designs to stand out. A number of brass hued antiques are peppered amongst the products to give a nod to Garg’s inspiration from both indigenous cultures and the art world.
The brand appears to be overhauling a number of its flagship stores. Just this week, Raw Mango advertised that it is hiring an architectural projects manager to be based in New Delhi.
Designer Sanjay Garg launched Raw Mango in 2008 and the brand retails from its stores in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai as well as its new store in Hyderabad. The brand presents handloom textiles and traditional craft techniques as high end fashion and mixes classic aesthetics with an experimental yet subtle eclecticism.
