Actor Ram Kapoor recently shared his admiration for Rakhi Sawant’s journey in the Hindi film industry, emphasizing her resilience and success despite facing challenges. Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, he recalled how Rakhi, with no industry connections or godfather, managed to carve a name for herself. Kapoor’s comments shed light on her struggles, including instances where Bollywood allegedly tried to “misuse” her talent, and her eventual triumph as a self-made celebrity.

Rakhi’s Rise to Stardom
Ram Kapoor’s association with Rakhi dates back to 2009 when he hosted her reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. The show’s finale saw Rakhi getting engaged to Elesh Parujanwala, though the relationship ended a few months later. Kapoor described witnessing Rakhi’s determination and growth firsthand during that period. “She lives in a 3 BHK sea-facing apartment in Mumbai, which she owns. Respect! She achieved this herself,” he said, acknowledging her hard-earned success.
Kapoor didn’t shy away from addressing the darker aspects of Rakhi’s journey. “She has faced many bad experiences,” he said, adding, “No godfather, nothing. Bollywood wanted to misuse her as a nice, sexy dancer, but she proved everyone wrong.” While admitting he doesn’t always agree with her opinions or actions, Kapoor emphasized the importance of respecting her resilience and accomplishments.
Apart from discussing Rakhi Sawant, Ram Kapoor has been making headlines for his own transformation. Shedding 55 kilos over five years, the actor shared that his journey involved numerous ups and downs. “For five years, I was on a weight loss roller coaster, losing 30 kilos and then gaining it back,” he revealed in a podcast.
