Actress Pooja Hegde recently shared her perspective on auditions and the significance of actors proving their versatility through the process. Addressing the challenges faced by female actors, she pointed out how typecasting limits opportunities in the industry.

“Filmmakers have a certain perception about actors, especially female actors, as we tend to get typecast easily. That’s why I feel it’s important to audition and showcase your traits that haven’t been explored yet. It’s better to be in the running for a role than to be overlooked. Some of the biggest stars audition in the West, why not here?” Pooja stated.
The actress, who has established herself across multiple industries, has worked extensively in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema. Over the years, she has built a diverse portfolio, portraying varied characters and breaking stereotypes associated with her on-screen image. Despite her success, she continues to emphasize the importance of taking risks and exploring new dimensions of her craft.
Currently, Pooja Hegde is gearing up for her upcoming Tamil film Retro, where she will be seen alongside Suriya. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film is set for release on May 1. Additionally, she will also star in the Bollywood film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, opposite Varun Dhawan. Directed by David Dhawan, the film is expected to blend romance with light-hearted entertainment and is slated to hit the screens soon. She also has Thalapathi Vijay’s last film Jana Nayagan before his retirement from the film world, in the pipeline.
