Pesticide Poisoning: Tragic Death of Chandrapur Farmer Linked to Pesticide Exposure |

Chandrapur: A 40-year-old farmer from Bhoyegaon village in Korpana taluka reportedly died of pesticide poisoning on October 16. The victim, Prashant Telang, had been spraying pesticides on his farm earlier that day when the incident occurred.
According to sources, Telang was in the field since morning. It is suspected that the sprayed chemical must have entered his body through sweat or through windpipe, leading to severe discomfort.Around 3 pm, Telang complained of uneasiness, prompting his relatives and neighbours to rush him to the government hospital in Chandrapur.
Despite efforts of medical staff, Telang’s condition deteriorated, and he was declared dead around 5 pm. The case has raised concerns about the safety of pesticide use in rural farming areas, however authorities are yet to confirm the exact cause of death.
Telang is survived by his wife and two daughters. His funeral was conducted late on Wednesday evening.
