Smart wearables brand Pebble has expanded its product offering and launched ‘Junior’ as a 4G-enabled smartwatch for children. Designed with safety in mind, the smartwatch’s features include GPS tracking and voice and video calling.
“As we approach 2025, I am thrilled about the exciting future forward for Pebble with a robust lineup that reflects our commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction,” said Pebble’s founder and CEO Ananth Narayanan in a press release. “We’re committed to understanding and leading the trends of the Indian market. Building on our presence in the smartwatch category, we are expanding our portfolio to bring innovative technology across new segments along with expansion in current markets.”
Pebble’s ‘Junior’ smartwatch includes an SOS alert system to alert parents should their child find themselves in distress. ‘Geo fencing’ enables parents to set up alerts to notify them if their children leave specified zones and health monitoring features track children’s activity, heart rate, and blood oxygen levels while a customisable design and remote photo capture are designed to engage the wearer.
“Our aim is to broaden our tech horizons and redefine what accessible, high-quality tech can mean for our customers,” said Narayanan. “We’re entering a wide array of categories, from audio devices and keyboards to smart rings and accessories, all designed to integrate seamlessly into our customers’ lives. As part of this journey, we are also tapping into the mass-premium segment to meet the demand for stylish, quality wearables, offering our customers a premium experience at a compelling value.”
