Para-badminton silver medallist and IAS officer Suhas Yathiraj spoke to students about the nervous energy that accompanies every exam, whether it’s a school test or a challenge in life. He emphasized that overcoming the fear of failure allows individuals to tap into their full potential. “Your mind is your greatest friend and greatest enemy,” Yathiraj reminded the students.

He also encouraged students not to focus on their competitors or what lies ahead, as dwelling on these thoughts won’t help. Instead, he urged them to trust in their own preparation. “If you believe in your preparation and hard work, the sky’s the limit,” he assured them.

She further stressed on importance of consistency and focus when preparing for exams. Drawing from her own experiences as an athlete, she emphasised how daily practice with undivided attention can lead to success. “Consistency matters a lot. If you study daily with complete focus, you will be able to retain it. There are breathing exercises that help you maintain your heart rate and keep you calm,” she advised students, encouraging them to build strong study habits and manage stress effectively.

Indian boxer and Olympic bronze medalist Mary Kom inspired students with her personal journey of overcoming obstacles. She spoke about the importance of mental and physical resilience when facing challenges, drawing from her own experiences in the boxing ring. “If you want to take up challenges, you must be strong enough…I became a champion after facing many challenges. If I can do it, then why can’t you?” she encouraged, urging students to embrace challenges with confidence and determination, knowing that they have the strength to succeed just like she did.
