NAGPUR: Opposition staged a protest alleging scam in Dharavi redevelopment plan on the steps of Vidhan Sabha ahead of the day’s proceedings.
Flashing a banner ‘Modani’, the legislators called for saving Dharavi from being “gifted to Adani group“.
Leader of the opposition in council Ambadas Danve alleged that the state government is secretly handing over the land to businessman Gautam Adani and displacing hundreds of small businesses run in every Dharavi home.
Congress MLA Varsha Gaikwad said TDR norms have been modified to suit Adani group. Dhanve said goons are being sent to Dharavi to coerce residents to vacate homes. “Like Centre, the state government is working for Adani. 70000 homes are not sure if they will get rehabilitated. We will raise the issue in house”, he said.
Gaikwad said like airports the state government is promoting monopoly of Adani in slum redevelopment.
