Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 appears to be a sensible courtroom drama with an element of spirituality in the form of the character of Lord Shiva, played by the latter. The promotional material of the film also gives an idea that it gives a message on the importance of sex education among school kids. In other words, the subject of the film is intriguing.
Due to this, the advance booking scenario for OMG 2 has been decent to say the least. As per latest update, the film has sold approximately 24,675 tickets for its opening day on August 11 across the three major multiplex chains in India. To break it up, the ticket sales of the film till today 4:30 pm remained at 13,000 (PVR), 6500 (Inox) and 5175 (Cinepolis) respectively.
One must note that these are the numbers only for the film’s first day and that too only in the three aforementioned multiplexes. It doesn’t contain the advance booking numbers in other multiplexes and single-screen theatres across India.
The advance booking numbers of OMG 2 are much lesser than that of Gadar 2, which is releasing on the same day. This can also be because of the fact that the Akshay starrer has received an adult certificate from the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification).
Directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 is produced under the banners of Cape of Good Films, Viacom18 Studios and Wakaoo Films.
