Ola S1 Pro, new scooter, removable battery details

Ola Electric’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, has shared a few pictures on his social media which reveal two new developments. One image shows an Ola-branded removable battery pack and the other partially shows the new B2C scooter, similar to the Yulu bikes we see zipping around metro cities these days.

  1. New e-scooter appears to be targeted at B2C market
  2. Scooter has simple underpinnings, will be a low-cost product
  3. Removable battery pack could also be seen on future Ola models

Earlier this year, Ola Electric had filed a design patent for a utilitarian B2C electric scooter and it seems that now the company has readied that same scooter for market launch. Another interesting detail is that the scooter will use removable batteries, similar to its primary rival, the Yulu electric mopeds.

The upcoming Ola B2C e-scooter will have a barebones design and a luggage rack is visible, showing that this will be a very practical, utilitarian offering. A drum rear brake and a hub-mounted motor is also visible, further reinforcing the fact that this is going to be a rather simple and low-cost product.

Coming to the battery pack, while it is for certain that the B2C scooter will have removable batteries, this same pack could also find a home in future Ola Electric models. The company has several models in the pipeline, under its new Gen 3 platform, which are due by January 2025. And it also showcased some funky-looking electric bikes, for which deliveries will begin next year.
