Dibber, an education group in Northern Europe with over 600 schools across 10 countries, has inaugurated its first preschool in New Delhi. In less than a year, following its successful launch in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune, it is the seventh Dibber centre in India. By the end of 2024, the group plans on opening 40 more pre-schools across India.
The preschool was inaugurated by H.E. May-Elin Stener, Ambassador of Norway to India; Marvin Dsouza, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dibber Schools, India and Pål Ødegaard, Chief Growth Officer, Dibber Global.
During the inauguration, Stener remarked, “I am pleased to witness the success of Dibber, a Norwegian enterprise that ventured into India in 2023, demonstrating to other Norwegian businesses the promising opportunities in the Indian market. With seven operational centres already established, I anticipate further expansion shortly. Notably, Norway, as part of the European Free Trade Association, recently finalised a free trade agreement with India, facilitating more Norwegian businesses to engage in the Indian market.”
In an Interview with BW Education, Dsouza said, “We are planning to establish K12 schools as well with a focus on cities like Bangalore, Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad and Gurgaon. Dibber’s pedagogy, inspired by Nordic principles is undergoing local adaptation, integrating India’s diverse cultural heritage. This ensures a comprehensive child-centered approach that is both culturally resonant and internationally competitive.”
Dibber is currently operational in 10 countries, providing services to 45,000 children. Its pedagogy is shaped by the Nordic curriculum emphasising social justice, equal opportunities, and nurturing well-rounded citizens. It focuses on student-centered learning, collaboration, and preparing students for the future.
