Flipkart’s fashion arm Myntra has reported doubling its Gen Z customer base from over eight million in mid- 2023 to 16 million in 2024. The business is gearing up to launch its festive fashion sale and expects to continue to engage Gen Z shoppers and add between 20 million and 25 million young customers in the coming two years.
“With the online trend-first fashion market expected to grow over eight times into a $5 billion market by 2028, FWD by Myntra is… taking charge in reshaping fashion for young India, reflecting Myntra’s commitment to staying ahead of GenZ’s rapidly evolving trends and preferences,” said the business in a statement, India Retailing reported.
Myntra is gearing up to launch its online festive sale event the ‘Big Fashion Festival’ on September 26, the business announced on Facebook. The sale will offer shoppers between 50% and 90% discounts on a wide range of Indian and international fashion and lifestyle brands with both ethnic and western styles promoted.
“We plan to double our customer growth and penetrate deeper into the market, by leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance every touchpoint from selection to discovery to delivery,” said Myntra’s chief marketing officer Sunder Balasubramanian.
