Nagpur: An angry mob brought down the residences of a 14-year-old boy and a goon at Mahakali Nagar in the wee hours of Thursday for stabbing a 46-year-old mason, Sudharam Baheshwar, to death on August 8.
CP Amitesh Kumar immediately shifted senior inspector Vaijayanti Mandodhawde out of Beltarodi police station and replaced her with Mukund Kawde from MIDC police station. It’s learnt Mandodhawde was shifted to crime branch.
The goon, Aman Chavan, had a feast at home after the murder and fled the place. Though police nabbed him later, the local population were not satisfied with the police action.
Around 100 persons have been booked for ransacking the house of the two assailants and attacking their kin. Police have arrested 18 persons so far.
