The MG Cyberster electric sports car is set to launch in January 2025. Currently on sale overseas, the Cyberster will be MG India’s first product to be sold from its Select showrooms. While we recently reported on its official battery specifications and range, MG has now dropped a hint on the EV’s colour options.
- Cyberster is MG’s first-ever sports car with an electric powertrain
- MG Mifa 9 to follow Cyberster’s launch in India
- Initially, 12 MG Select outlets to sell EVs, PHEVs and strong hybrids
MG Cyberster colour palette
The 2025 Cyberster will be sold in India in four colours – red, grey, white and yellow – similar to what is offered in markets like Malaysia. The actual nomenclature for these paints differs depending on the market. It will announce the same here shortly.
In Europe, however, MG offers the Cyberster in six colours. The limited colour palette in India may be due to the Cyberster being brought in as a CBU.
MG Cyberster draws design cues from B Roadster
The exterior elements of the Cyberster, including an octagon ‘MG’ badge, long bonnet and soft-top roof are inspired by the MG B Roadster sold during the 1960s. To keep aerodynamic efficiency in check, a closed nose and upward swooping air intakes have also been integrated into the front bumper, resembling a ‘smiling’ face.
A major highlight of the Cyberster has to be its scissor doors, which MG claims are a first on an EV in India. It is expected get 19- and 20-inch wheels. At the back, there are arrow-shaped LED tail-lights with an LED light bar stretching the width of the car.
JSW MG has confirmed its participation in the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo and will present the Cyberster alongside the Mifa 9 MPV, which will launch later.
