The luxury car market in India has consistently been growing over the past few years, and it recorded a healthy 20.5 percent year-on-year growth in FY2024. That’s, no doubt, on the back of competent product launches, and the same momentum is expected to continue in 2025 as well. Here, we have listed all the new luxury cars and SUVs launching in India in 2025, so let’s take a closer look at each.
Audi A6 e-tron
Expected only in sedan form (international markets get an estate version, too), the A6 e-tron is based on the same PPE platform that underpins the Q6 e-tron and the Porsche Macan Electric. The all-electric sedan sports typically understated Audi looks, albeit with some unique e-tron touches, illuminated brand logos, and front and rear lights with customisable patterns and signatures. On the inside, it is quite similar to the Q6 e-tron SUV, with a single curved display that includes a 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch central infotainment unit. A 10.9-inch passenger screen is also on offer. There are three variants available overseas – a 282hp RWD with an 83kWh battery (610km of WLTP range), along with a 362hp Performance RWD and a 422hp Quattro AWD, both of which get a 100kWh pack. The launch is expected by mid-2025, and it will likely cost above Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom).
Audi Q6 e-tron SUV and Sportback
As the first locally assembled Audi EV in India, the Q6 e-tron SUV will likely be competitively priced, though a hotter SQ6 variant will follow. Like its sibling, the A6, there are 85 and 100kWh battery options, though the latter is likely for India, which in RWD guise has a 641km WLTP range.
The Q6 e-tron Sportback coupé-SUV will come to India after the Q6 e-tron. It’ll share the same 100kWh battery pack and is likely to also come with the 388hp motor and Quattro AWD tech. However, thanks to its swoopy design, the drag coefficient has been lowered from 0.28 to 0.26 compared to the SUV version, boosting the range figure to 650km.
Bentley Flying Spur
While this limousine shares its 4.0-litre V8 hybrid powertrain with the Continental GT, in the heavier Flying Spur, the combined 782hp and 1,000Nm is good enough for a 0-100kph run of 3.5 seconds, and an electric-only range of 76km. Powertrain aside, a lot of interiors and few design details are also shared with the Continental GT. Notably, the Flying Spur is the most powerful four-door car in the brand’s history. Expect the launch in the second quarter of 2025, and the price is likely to be around the Rs 6 crore mark (ex-showroom). It is slated to arrive in Q2 of 2025 and will likely cost around Rs 6 crores (ex-showroom).
BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe facelift
The mid-life refresh for the 2 Series Gran Coupe adopts a completely different front-end design from the outgoing model, with a new ‘kidney’ grille, more angular cuts and creases, all-new headlights and a lowered, more aggressive bumper. The interior also mirrors newer BMWs, with the curved touchscreen that runs the latest BMW OS9 software taking centre stage. The current petrol and diesel engines are expected to continue. The launch is expected in the first quarter, and prices are expected to start at around Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom).
New BMW X3
Set to be launched at the event, the fourth-gen X3 gets an all-new design language inside and out. It is full of large, clean surfaces with minimal cuts and creases. Also new is the grille, which consists of both diagonal and horizontal slats, along with dagger-shaped headlights with double LED ‘ticks’. Inside, the X3 takes a leaf out of the iX and gets a sloping dash, wide curved display, and a very modern, minimalist look. The dashboard also comes finished in a new meshed fabric material that feels quite unique. Under the hood, the new X3 will be available with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines with mild-hybrid technology. Prices are expected to range between Rs 80 lakh and Rs 85 lakh (ex-showroom).
Lexus ES facelift
Revealed in November last year for international markets, the facelift for the ES is a relatively minor one. There’s the new RX SUV-inspired, metal stud-like grille design and sharper matrix LED headlights with new boomerang-shaped DRLs. The rear now sports a light bar connecting the tail-lights. The refreshed ES is expected to be mechanically identical to the model currently on sale, which gets a frugal 218hp hybrid powertrain. On the inside, there are fewer buttons overall, but there’s a larger 14-inch touchscreen infotainment that now incorporates the climate controls. The facelift is likely to be locally assembled, like the current model. It is expected to arrive before mid-2025 with prices ranging between Rs 70 lakh and Rs 75 lakh.
Maserati Grecale Folgore
Maserati’s first all-electric SUV is expected to arrive with a 105kWh battery pack – with 400V charging capabilities – good for 501km of WLTP range. The AWD e-SUV has a total output of 557hp and 820Nm, helping the 2.5-tonne Grecale Folgore hit 100kph from standstill in just 4.1 seconds. Design-wise, the Grecale Folgore has strong influences from Maserati’s new lineup of sportscars. The interior, too, is thoroughly modern with three digital screens with enhanced digital functionality and a minimalist design. The launch is expected by mid-2025, and it will likely be priced around Rs 3.5 crore mark (ex-showroom).
Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV Night Series
The EQS Maybach SUV will get a special Night Edition package. Available on the EQS 680-spec, the Night Edition package brings a blacked-out theme for exterior elements like the Maybach emblem, front grille panel, air intakes and running board, along with a rather attractive two-tone paint job. A rear roof spoiler is added as well. Mechanically though, it remains unchanged from the regular EQS SUV. Mercedes will also launch a new 5-seater version of the EQS SUV in 450 spec that uses the same 122kWh battery pack as the 7-seater EQS 580 4Matic. Launch of both these models are scheduled to take place over the next couple of weeks.
Mercedes G 580 with EQ Technology
While bookings had begun in July 2024, Mercedes has yet to reveal prices for the all-electric G-Wagen. The all-electric G-Class’ 116kWh battery pack provides up to 473km of WLTP range, and powers four individual motors making a combined 587hp and 1,164Nm. Subtle design tweaks over the standard G-Class make it more aerodynamic, and help the SUV achieve a 0-100kph time of 5.5 seconds. Bespoke off-road features include G-Turn, which allows it to rotate 720 degrees on the spot and G-Steering, which reduces the turning circle by enabling it to pivot around an individual wheel. The launch is scheduled for later this week, and prices are likely be around the Rs 4 crore mark. (ex-showroom).
Mini Cooper Electric
Underpinned by a bespoke EV platform, the all-new Cooper Electric comes with two battery options. The E variant gets a 184hp motor powered by a 40.7kWh battery with up to 305km of range, while the SE gets a 218hp motor powered by a 54.2kWh battery with a claimed range of 402km. Visually, the electric model shares its minimalist design and interiors with the petrol-powered Cooper that went on sale earlier this year. The launch is expected in the first quarter of this year and the price is expected to be around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Mini Countryman
The next-gen Countryman has arrived in India, albeit in just all-electric form. However, the petrol-powered version will to India in the second half of this year. Differentiable by its grille, the ICE Countryman will likely come to India with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that makes 218hp, and have AWD as standard. Mini’s rival to the Mercedes GLA, BMW X1 and Audi Q3 has grown in size and is correspondingly a lot roomier inside. A notable highlight is the rear seat that now gets 6-way individually adjustable backrests that can be reclined by up to 12 degrees. The equipment list will also include an ADAS suite. Prices are expected to range between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 55 lakh.
Volvo EX30
Positioned as the brand’s entry-level electric SUV, the EX30 is based on Volvo parent Geely’s SEA platform. There’s a clear link to Volvo’s flagship EX90 electric SUV in the way it looks. In top-spec form, the EX30 uses two motors that make a combined 427hp. Powering the motors is a 69kWh battery that enables up to 474km range on the WLTP cycle. It will likely launch by mid-2025 and prices are expected to be around Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom).
Volvo EX90
Volvo’s flagship three-row SUV is the first to be built on Volvo’s SPA2 platform. The EX90 will be offered with a 111kWh battery, twin-motors and an all-wheel-drive powertrain with two outputs – 408hp and 517hp – having a claimed range of up to 600km. While the EX90 is slightly larger than the XC90 currently on sale in India, it is more aerodynamic and retains a number of the XC90’s design elements. Feature highlights include a 14.5-inch vertically oriented touchscreen. This, too, will be arriving by mid-2025 and will be priced above Rs 1 crore. (ex-showroom).
