MDI Gurgaon Hosts Certificate Course


Management Development Institute Gurgaon conducts a Certificate course on Research Methodology for Indian thought in Management

The Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon has held a Certificate Course on Research Methodology for Indian Thought in Management in honour of Arvind K Sinha, Former Professor at IIT Kanpur. The course aimed to commemorate Sinha’s pioneering work in indigenous research in Organisational Behaviour and Social Psychology.

The workshop was conducted by Dharm P S Bhawuk, a cross-cultural psychology expert and Professor at the University of Hawaii. The workshop provided a comprehensive understanding of Indian thought’s philosophical foundations and fostered dialogue among educators, researchers and management professionals. 

The two-day workshop aimed to explore and validate insights embedded in ancient Indian wisdom using scientific research methodologies. 

“Research on Indian perspectives in social sciences can enhance global understanding of Indian culture and philosophy, promoting intercultural understanding. It is our professional academic duty to use enter-subjective, verifiable research methods to enhance the credibility and global acceptance of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), thereby fostering a deeper understanding of Indian culture and philosophy”, Arvind Sahay, Director, MDI Gurgaon, said. 

Dr Suvrokamal Dutta, Political and Foreign Policy expert highlighted the importance of scientific research on ancient Indian wisdom; Integrating ancient theories with modern scientific discourse, researchers can gain a holistic understanding of the wisdom’s practical applications. Also, there is a need for scientific research to bridge past treasures with present inquiries to foster a global understanding of ancient Indian wisdom.
