Maruti Suzuki FY2025 financial performance
Compact models experienced sales downturn in FY2025
While the Wagon R enjoyed hefty success by itself, sales for Maruti Suzuki’s compact offerings, like the Swift, Dzire, Baleno, etc, overall declined by 7.58 percent year-on-year. The company recorded more than 8.96 lakh compact car sales in FY2025, down from 9.70 lakh units in FY2024.
Maruti Suzuki’s total domestic sales for FY2025 stood at 17.61 lakh units, reflecting marginal growth of 0.05 percent compared to FY2024. Some of the key drivers of this growth were a 10 percent increase in rural sales and a 3.5 percent boost in rural market share, thanks to Maruti Suzuki’s expansion of its dealership network to over 150 upcountry markets.
Wagon R sales in rural areas nearly matched urban markets
Wagon R sales were almost evenly split between urban and rural areas, with urban sales accounting for 51.8 percent and rural sales contributing 48.2 percent. It’s worth noting, though, that a significant portion of the Wagon R’s urban sales comes from the fleet segment.
