Mahindra XUV3XO: what is it?

Essentially a major design and feature overhaul for the existing XUV300 SUV, the XUV3XO has been spotted on tests many times at different locations. With the updated XUV3XO Mahindra will be aiming to increase its presence in the competitive compact SUV market that recently saw launches of the heavily updated Nexon and the refreshed Kia Sonet among other rivals.

Mahindra XUV3X0 to get BE SUV inspired looks

The XUV3XO gets major design refresh, especially to its front and rear. Styling cues are inspired heavily by Mahindra’s BE line-up of SUVs that will go on sale in 2025. Design updates include a more angular nose along with a new drop-down look for the LED daytime running lamps along with revised front bumper and headlamp assembly. It gets a new two-part grille with a larger central air intake on the bumper.

The teaser confirms new look for the XUV3XO’s rear too.  As reported by us earlier, it gets a completely redesigned tailgate with a full-width LED light bar. The surfacing of the tailgate is smoother, the tail-lamps appear sleeker and C-shaped, and the registration plate is now housed on the bumper instead of on the tailgate. It also gets a new set of alloy wheels with dark chrome finish.

Mahindra XUV3X0: powertrain highlights

The current crop of engines – a 1.5-litre diesel, 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.2-litre direct injection turbo petrol (TGDI) – that received emissions-related upgrades for BS6 Stage II norms will continue as is.  However, the 1.2-liter TGDI petrol will get a Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox will be a new addition to the line-up.  The XUV3XO line-up, as reported by us earlier, will also get a EV powertrain later this year.

Mahindra XUV3X0: launch timeline

While the XUV3XO will see a global debut as the XUV300 replacement on April 29, it remains to be seen whether Mahindra announces prices for its Brezza rival or the same day or later.
