Parvati-trained Magnetic (P. Trevor astride) claimed the South India Oaks (2,400m), the star attraction of Wednesday (Jan. 1) races. The winner is owned by Miss. Ameeta Mehra, Mr. Mukul A. Sonawala & Mr. Chaduranga Kanthraj Urs.
Trevor, who rode confidently, kept Magnetic fourth till the final turn. He then started manoeuvring his mount, the filly responded tremendously to a few reminders and took over from long time leader Mother’s Grace in the last 100m to win resolutely.
Trainer Vijay Singh saddled four winners, while Trevor scored a treble on the day.
