  3. Will go on sale by end-July 2023

Kia Seltos facelift: what does the new teaser reveal?

In its official teaser, Kia India has partially revealed the Seltos’ front styling, though previous spy shots have already given us a look at the SUV’s final production guise. The Kia Seltos facelift in India gets a slightly different looking front bumper, more body cladding and additional body-coloured inserts in the foglamp housing when compared to the one sold overseas. As part of the mid-life facelift, the Seltos gets redesigned headlights with new LED daytime running lamps as seen in the teaser.

There aren’t major changes on the sides, but some variants will get a fresh design for their alloy wheels. At the back, the India-bound Seltos gets unique styling with a different bumper design than the overseas model. There will be more cosmetic tweaks at the back, depending on the variant. The tail-lamps are new as well and now extend vertically downwards, similar to newer Kia models. The same tail-lamp design is expected to be seen on the India-bound Sonet facelift and also the facelifted new-gen Carnival MPV that is yet to be revealed.

The official teaser also gives us a first look at the interior of the India-spec Seltos, conforming an all-new dashboard design. As far as features go, the Seltos facelift will come with a panoramic sunroof, a new twin-screen setup with a curved display, ADAS suite, dual-zone climate control, and an updated infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Kia Seltos facelift powertrain options

The 115hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel engines will continue to be offered. Additionally, the new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which churns out 160hp and 253Nm, will join the line-up as a replacement for the already discontinued 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine.

Kia Seltos facelift rivals

Once prices are announced, the Kia Seltos facelift will rival the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, and the upcoming Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross. Expect the updated Seltos to be priced slightly higher than the outgoing model.
