Kazakhstan has been chosen as the host country for the 5th Edition of the prestigious World Nomad Games in 2024 from September 8 to September 14, 2024. The 4th World Nomad Games were held in 2022 in Iznik, Turkey. 3 000 athletes from 102 countries, 13 sports. The decision reflects Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage, strong commitment to preserving nomadic traditions, and exceptional capabilities in organizing international sporting events.
The World Nomad Games are included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. More than 3,000 participants from over 100 countries are expected to participate at the 7-day Games scheduled to take place in Astana. More than 20 types of sports and games will be played during the event.
The 5th World Nomad Games in Astana will be held under the motto “The Gathering of the Great Steppe”.
They include horse races, national types of wrestling, traditional intellectual games, competitions in martial arts, traditional archery, national types of hunting with birds, horse racing, folk games, as well as exhibition performances in ethnic sports. 110 sets of medals will be awarded at the Games.
