JMI Student Wins Silver In Para Badminton Nationals


Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) celebrates the achievement of its PhD student, Munna Khalid, who secured a silver medal alongside partner Shashank Kumar in the 6th National Para-Badminton Championship held in Jamshedpur

Munna Khalid, a PhD student of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has won a silver medal in the 6th National Para Badminton Championship 2024. The championship was organised by the Badminton Association of India and sponsored by Tata Steel Foundation, a total of  567 para players from about 28 states and 4 union territories participated in this national championship.

Munna Khalid won the silver medal along with his partner Shashank Kumar. For the gold medal, Munna Khalid and Shashank Kumar gave a tough fight to the national champions for the last five years and lost in three sets 1-2 (21-12, 14-21 & 14-21).

Munna Khalid aims to win medals in the upcoming Asian Games and Paralympics and bring glory to the country, state and JMI.

A student of PhD in Hindi Literature at JMI, Khalid had earlier completed his BSc (Hons), MSW and MA Hindi also from JMI.
