Jaat showed some growth on Sunday as it managed to go past the Rs. 5 crores mark, what with Rs. 5.09 crores coming in. Compared to Rs. 14.05 crores which had come on the first Sunday, this is a drop indeed and something around Rs. 7 crores would have been much better as that would have meant a hold of 50% which would have been solid.
Yes, Kesari – Chapter 2 has released and the Akshay Kumar starrer is fetching good attention for itself. However, the target audience of both the films is different and hence Sunny Deol starrer could potentially have made further inroads into the mass audience. So far, it’s decent to good, but had it got into good to very good zone at some key mass centres then the game would have been something else for the action drama.
Nonetheless, the film has accomplished a good milestone with Rs. 75 crores mark being crossed as it currently stands at Rs. 76.18 crores. Given the state of the industry today, every milestone is worth to be acknowledged even as one waits for the next major one (Rs. 100 crores) to be celebrated. What matters is that here is a film which is at least a plus affair, something that Bollywood is desperately hunting for.
