Janki Devi Memorial College in collaboration with COAE International organised an International Conference discussing NAAC Accreditation and ISO Certifications in higher education institutions
Janki Devi Memorial College, a NAAC A+ accredited premier women’s college of the University of Delhi, in collaboration with the Centre of Assessments for Excellence (COAE) International conducted an International Conference to discuss NAAC Accreditation and ISO Certifications and their role in quality assurance in higher education institutions.
The University of Delhi’s first college to achieve ISO 21001:2018 certification held a conference titled ‘Enhancing Quality and Achieving Excellence in HEIs: Complementary and Converging Roles of NAAC Accreditation and ISO 21001:2018 Certification,’ attended by over 100 educators from across India under the IQAC’s aegis.
This international conference served the purpose of imparting an understanding of the ISO’s principles and disseminating awareness about its cardinal role in establishing the credibility of an educational organisation.
The one-day workshop showcased insightful presentations. Highlights included:

- A K Singh, Head and Dean, Department of Commerce, University of Delhi – ‘Excellence in HEIs through Accreditation Process’
- David Bong, Co-Founder and CEO, Avant Assessment, USA – ‘Ensuring Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education for All – Demystifying ISO 21001’
- Dr Jamel Smida, Director-Quality Center, Al Maarefa University, Riyadh – ‘Exploring Internal and External Advantages of ISO 21001’
- Marie Luise Stoll-Stefan, CEO – Life School GmbH, Wiesbaden, Germany – ‘Why is ISO 21001 Certification Becoming More Important in Times of Rapid Technological Change and AI’
- Dr Arti Khosla, Founder & CEO – Centre of Assessments for Excellence during her presentation, emphasised the role of the ISO and said, “With such a massive young population, education institutions in India have a grave responsibility towards those citizens.
The Conference attempted to understand the complementarity between the NAAC Accreditation and ISO 21001 Certification and the convergence of the two in quality assurance, sustenance and enhancement in HEIs in their quest for excellence.
Proving to be a resounding success, the participating educators discussed and understood the importance of publishing standards and how they are the defining element in higher education.
