For Jaat to be assured of an overall satisfying week, what it needed was to have its Monday collections similar to that of Friday. On its second day at the box office, the film had collected Rs. 7 crores at the box office. Though from Friday, there is always a drop of 30%-40% at least that cubes in, considering the fact that there was partial holiday on Monday, a good hold was expected. More so since the film had also seen some good momentum building by Sunday.
That’s the reason why the collections did meet expectations as Rs. 7.30 crores more came on Monday. Even if Rs. 6 crores would have come, then it would have been reasonably decent, though below than that would have hampered its run as drops would have started coming from Tuesday on. Even now, the collections will see a dip but since a good number has already come on Monday, anything in the vicinity of Rs. 5 crores would be good enough, which means around Rs. 15 crores more are expected to be added to its total so far.
The film has already netted Rs. 47.92 crores and while a half century would be crossed rather comfortably today, it would be interesting to see how much further to the Rs. 50 crores mark will it go today. The film will comfortably cross Rs. 60 crores mark by the close of its eight days extended week and it would hold during the second weekend which will decide if it has a shot at the Rs. 100 Crore Club.
